Arrival in Islamabad

Flight to Skardu / Karakoram (2,230m)

Check-in at our hotel after a sensational domestic flight into Skardu through deep gorges of Indus River to take a spectacular glimpse of Nanga Parbat (mount of the moon) from the flight. In case of canceled flight by weather then safely cross through KKH in our private AC coasters.

Day 03 :

Preparation Day at Skardu (2,230m)

A crucial preparation day and administrative check in Skardu. Our logisticians are making sure all your mountaineering permits are signed off with the tourism department and will be organizing our portage crew while you have free time to enjoy some visits to Sarfaranga Cold Desert, organize all your technical big-wall climbing gear or even organize and pack your big wall gear.

Day 04 :

Drive to Kanday Village (2,900m) — 6 Hours Drive

We head north out of Skardu, bouncing in 4x4 vehicles along the route of the Indus and Shyok Rivers to the Ghanche District. We negotiate rocky granite passes before finding the local welcome of Kanday Village and pitching our tents.

Day 05 :

Trek to Minglu Broq (3,650m) — 5 Hours Walk

The trek starts with a step in the mesmerizing Nangma Valley! A hike alongside the gushing glacial stream that passes between dramatic, spire-like granite towers for which the Nangma valley is famous, will lead us to a picturesque camping at Minglu Broq the high pasture.

Day 06 :

Trek to Amin Brakk Base Camp (4,400m) — 4 Hours Walk

A cool start, our day of trekking carries us further into the alpine amphitheater of the inner valley. As we progress over firm lateral moraine we are deposited directly in the toe of the impressive 1,200m vertical walls of Amin Brakk (5,850m). Our base camp will be our new home for the weeks to come.

Day 07-25 :

Climbing Days at Amin Brakk (5,850m)

A 19 day concentrated window of the ultimate technical big wall rock climb. Our team will undertake the ascent, setting up our haul lines, undertaking the technical aid and free climbing pitches, and sleeping on portaledges at the face wall. A great window of time, which offers us the flexibility for the vagaries of Karakoram weather and ensuring a clean and successful push to the summit.

Day 26 :

Trek Back to Kanday and Drive to Skardu

We pack out our entire base camp and return to our previous steps on the return journey to ensure no trace of our presence remains on the beautiful ecosystem of Nangma valley. We retrace our path back to the valley to the Kanday Village to where our 4x4 jeeps are waiting to transport us along the river highways back to our comfortable hotel in Skardu.

Day 27 :

Drive or Fly to Islamabad

We move back to the airport in Skardu for a morning flight back to Islamabad, where you'll catch your last glimpse of mountain range from the sky. If due to any prevailing weather condition we do not get permission for the flight, then our backup coasters are already waiting and taking you to the ground journey to the valley.

Day 28 :

Contingency Day in the Capital

Your travel arrangements and administrative time have an important travel and administrative buffer built-in, so if there are any flight delays we will be able to continue with our tour on the following day. If we get there on time it becomes another opportunity to relax, explore Islamabad or have a final dinner at our leisure.

Day 29 :

Departure to Home Country

Black Yak Adventure will arrange your private transfers to your international airport of choice to link up with your departures following your final morning of exploration. Congratulations – you have completed your international big-wall trip of a lifetime into Pakistan’s big wall heartland.
