Drive time 10 to 12 hours We head North to drive down to the historical Karakoram Highway. The change in landscape will be stark; from lush green foothills of Hazara to high altitude deserts in the Indus river gorge. We spent the night in Chilas.

Jeep drive: 1.5 hours | Trek: 3 hours We’ll travel by vehicle to Raikot Bridge, where we’ll transition into a local 4×4 jeep. It's the classic route to Tato Village, famous for its hairpin bends along the cliffs, as well as its breathtaking scenery. After a short rest in Tato we start our 3-hour gradual climb up a pinewood forested path to a point where the trees open out to a vast green field (Fairy Meadows) with the imposing North Face of Nanga Parbat facing us.

Day is reserved for body adaptation & photography. It has one of the finest “window views” of a 8000m mountain in the world. You may walk down to streams, explore shepherding huts or rest and witness the “Killer Mountain” reflect in the lakes around.

Walking time : 3-4 Hrs We proceed further into the Raikot valley, following the base of the Raikot Glacier, the walk takes us through old juniper trees & birch woods. Beyal Camp is less busy secluded hideaway much closer to the base of the mountain, hence giving one a very wild & intimate feeling of the mountain.

Trekking Time : 6-8 hrs. (round trek)We ascend the lateral moraine and ascend across the glacier to reach the actual mountaineers' base camp of Nanga Parbat and to stand at the bottom of Raikot face where vertical walls of rocks rise for many thousand metres above us. After having picnic lunch at the bottom of giant we go back to Beyal camp in evening.

Walking Time: 4 Hours We start the day with an short & steep trek to a secret viewpoint from where you have a birds-eye-view of the entire Raikot Glacier and the mountains. In the afternoon, we trek back to Fairy meadows and celebrate reaching the Base Camp with a traditional bon-fire.

We leave the mountain behind and hike back down to Tato Village. After descending by Jeep to the Raikot Bridge, we begin our southward drive. Depending on the time of year, we drive across the Babusar Pass (4,173m), one final glance at the tall peaks before we make our way into the lush green of Kaghan Valley.

Drive Time: 6-7 Hours Finally our adventure takes us back to the capital of Islamabad. Upon checking in the hotel you have rest of the afternoon for your souvenir hunting and or trip to the Faisal Mosque. The expedition is rounded off by a farewell dinner by the Black Yak Adventure team.
