Day 01 :

Arrival in Islamabad

You are received at the Islamabad International Airport by our expedition team and you are privately transferred to our associate hotel. Our First day is used for sorting out climbing equipment, briefing on formalities, followed by welcome dinner in the evening with expedition leaders.

Day 02 :

Flight to Skardu / Karakoram (2,230m)

We board a phenomenal domestic flight cutting right across the Indus River gorges to give you a spectacular close up glimpse of Nanga Parbat. We land at Skardu and check in to our hotel. (If flights were cancelled due to mountain weather conditions we will travel along the Karakoram highway using our air conditioned private coaster to keep you as comfortable as can be).

Day 03 :

Preparation Day at Skardu (2,230m)

An Important Admin and Preparation Time. This will be a vital prep day. Whilst our operations staff collect your official climbing permits with the tourism office and arrange porters, you can use the time to check out the cold deserts or prepare your big-wall rock climbing hardware.

Day 04 :

Drive to Saisko (2,850m) — 6 Hours Drive

We get into our sturdy 4x4 jeeps to make a wild crossing through the ravines and the deep valleys of Baltistan and cross the boundary of the deep wilderness through the river courses to setup the first camp site at Saisko.

Day 05 :

Trek to Gangchan Peak Base Camp (4,300m) — 6 Hours Walk

Today, we finally start our trek. Leaving the road head at Saisko, we start our ascent on a beautiful path, following mountain streams and summer pastures. In the afternoon, we set up our main staging base at Gangchan Peak Base camp.

Day 06-14 :

Gangchan Peak Climbing Days (6,040m)

The summit push window lasts for 9 exciting days giving us the flexibility of setting up our high camps, going through the acclimatisation rotations and then patiently waiting out for good weather windows.

Day 15 :

Trek Back to Saisko & Drive to Skardu — 8 Hours Total

Now that the summit has been reached, we dismantle base camp without leaving a trace. Then we walk back down the valley to Saisko where we rest for a while and then take our 4x4 jeeps to our hotel in Skardu.

Day 16 :

Drive to Chilas / Fly to Islamabad

After all the wonderful sightseeing and fun filled experiences we are back in the domestic terminal for our return flight back to the capital city Islamabad from Skardu. In case of mountain flight cancellations due to adverse weather conditions, our alternate plan for travelling through the KKH by our ground vehicle to our first nights halt at Chilas will kick into gear without much delay or confusion.

Day 17 :

Islamabad — Contingency & Sightseeing Day

Administrative backup day just in case there is some unavoidable disruption or delay at travel time, If the plane is on time then day is ideal time to enjoy tour of Islamabad at best, you can go for sight-seeing tours and discover Faisal Mosque, have a lunch on the foothills of Margalla Hills.

Day 18 :

Departure Day — Fly Back Home

Following your morning hotel breakfast, Black Yak Adventure organises your private transfers to the airport for your international departure home, successfully completing your epic Gangchan Peak expedition.
