Climbing Spantik Peak (7,027m): The Golden Peak Expedition
Its colossal marble wall is a vision in orange at sunset, the reason it received this moniker, is among the most accessible and satisfying of the 7,000m peaks of the Karakoram. Beautifully poised between the Shigar and Nagar valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan, the Golden Peak is an excellent mountain to transition from high altitude trek to 8,000ers such as K2.
A Spantik Peak expedition will be undertaken via the standard Southeast Ridge route to give you classic high altitude experience.
A vast summit plateau yields breathtaking 360 views of the whole Karakoram range including Rakaposhi, even in the distance of the Gasherbrums. This and a relatively easy climbing style than its neighbors has cemented the Golden Peak as the mountain to do for anyone aiming to start a 7000m high altitude career. At Black Yak Adventure we maintain an unflinching eye for seamless logistical precision, balance, and an uncompromised approach to mountaineering safety on the Golden Peak. We believe in measured ascension and our itineraries always include robust acclimatisation programmes, first class basecamp accommodations and a comfortable high camp arrangement.
Our expert team fixes all the difficult sections of the mountain long in advance of your final push, while our certified Balti guides stay with you all along the route and provide you the safest and surest access to the summit.
